About: The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence is a national, non-profit, education, legal advocacy, and research organization working to reduce gun deaths and injuries. The Center, in conjunction with its lobbyingl affiliate, the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, has a comprehensive, multi-faceted approach to stemming America's gun violence epidemic. The Center was created in 1983 to educate the American public about the scope of gun violence and to develop solutions to the problem. Sarah Brady, wife of James Brady, former White House press secretary, is chair of the Center. Jim Brady is on the Center's Board of Trustees.
